The Kokoda Trail is renowned as the location of the World War II battle fought between Australian and Japanese forces, in 1942. The trail runs 96 kilometres (with more than 60 kilometres running in a straight line) in Papua New Guinea.
Known also for both hot and humid days and cold nights as well as for the risk of contacting tropical diseases, the Kokoda Trail makes it quite a challenge for those who venture into exploring it.
