THE LORD OF THE RINGS Virtual Challenges are HERE
The Jurassic Coast is a 95 mile stretch of land on the southern coast of England, stretching from Exmouth, East Devon to Swanage, Dorset. It is the only natural World Heritage Site in England, inscribed by Unesco in December 2021, for its magnificent display of 185 million years of geological history.
Coastal erosion has exposed, over the years, rock formations from three distinct time periods of Earth history: Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous. Along with this, the fossilized remains of various creatures, embedded in the cliffs, provide ample opportunity to explore the history of the Earth and how land and life evolved through the ages.
