Kungsleden Virtual Challenge
One of the world’s most famous hiking trails, Kungsleden stretches between Abisko and Hemavan in the Swedish Lapland. Its name translates to “The King’s Trail”, aptly named not only for its fame but also because it passes by the King’s fishing spot at lake Tärnasjön in the Sorsele municipality.
Even before the trail was officially marked, indigenous people have walked it for thousands of years. The trail passes through the breathtakingly beautiful nature reserve of Vindelfjällen mountains, one of the largest protected areas in Europe.
During the summer, the Kungsleden offers opportunities for quiet introspection, as well as a challenging hike. During the winter, it also doubles as a ski trail for an extra dose of adrenaline.
